January Blog | 2013
Welcome one and all to 2013, we at SPS hope your holidays were amazing and that 2013 is shaping up to be like none other.
The SPS farm is still busy as ever, so busy in fact that I almost had to go in for a few hours on Christmas day until the lovely Mrs. SPS firmly put her foot down! It’s always a challenge to keep orders moving along smoothly during the holidays but the SPS crew did an amazing job keeping things in check and everything remained on schedule. Clayton, Drew and Andrew busted their asses over the holidays and Graphics Guru Pete worked some miracles as well so a big thank you goes out to my entire team.
As I said, the SPS farm is still plowing through orders and it’s been awesome to see the excitement people have had for our products this year. The Tubby Tube Series continues to be our most popular addition but with such a huge variety of features to choose from in our catalog it’s going to be tough for this series to hold the title for to long. Speaking of our catalog, we are hard at work on our new 2013/2014 season catalog with an expected launch of April as usual. The catalog will feature a ton of new products and services, including our terrain park design / consulting / construction program, SPS events, SPS clothing and our very much anticipated SPS Tools.
SPS Tools is well under way after some early production hiccups. Being the perfectionist that I am, I have told the team I will settle for nothing but the best and from what I have seen so far they are succeeding. Our scoop shovel/rake combo and shaping shovel will be out on tour getting feedback from resorts over the coming months as well as they will be on display in our trade show booths in the spring. We have been getting a lot of suggestions and ideas from industry workers for tools, not just shaping tools but tools and equipment that generally make life in the terrain park easier and we hope to act on several of these as well. If you have any suggestions send them my way for a look.
Switching focus from snow to water for but a moment, I’m super stoked to announce our full fledged jump head first into the water. Our new full line of street/snow influenced wakeboard and wakeskate features is set to be launched this spring and in typical SPS fashion, we expect to revolutionize the way people look at jibbing on water. Our vision is to move away from the norm of floating plastic buckets called “obstacles” and bring real terrain park features to the water. We are extremely excited about our designs and with several pro shreds on our consulting team, we think a change on the water is on the horizon.
Once again, welcome to the New Year, I hope it’s filled with lots of shredding, good friends and good times!
